Normally an adult head contains more than a 100,000 hair follicles.  A person is likely to loose abbot 70-100 follicles every day that grows back within 5-6 days. But at some point of life, at a certain age the hair regrowth system gets rusty due to some internal chemical changes of the body. There are so many reasons why a person would lose hair at an abnormal rate.</p>
<p>The main reason of hair loss is aging of a person. The biological system of a human becomes less productive as he grows older and at some point the rate of hair fall surpasses the rate of regrowth resulting in rapid hair loss. A young person can also lose hair if they lack the minerals that are needed for healthy hair growth. Deficiency of minerals like zinc, iodine copper etc can affect the hair growth. Oxygen deficiency also plays a role in hair loss. If you observe carefully and find how many medication you are on right now, you might find your answer to hair loss as hair fall in many cases can be a side effect of medication. Besides all these your hair loss can also be a genetic problem that you inherited form your family.</p>
<p>There are ways you can avoid hair loss. To start with, you need to control your food habit; there are foods that you need to avoid to protect your hair. Foods like saturated fat and Trans fat are harmful for your hair follicle. You have to avoid foods that contain Aspartame and Monosodium Glutamate and obviously smoking is strictly prohibited for you if you want to get rid of hair loss. Avoid foods containing artificial color, preservatives and foods with plastic wrapping. Avoid eating too much salt as it also enhances hair fall.</p>
<p>Concentrate on food items which offers enough quantity of minerals like iron, zinc, copper, vitamin B, And E. foods with Biotin and coenzyme Q10 are also mighty helpful. Eat as much as green vegetables as you can. Have yogurts, soy, seeds and whole grain foods. Carrots are also very useful for hair growth but be careful about how much you take.</p>
<p>Traditional foods like Skikakai, extract of grape seeds, Saw palmetto Basil extract Pumpkin Seeds, green tea, Mulberry, Wolf berry etc are some foods that can help you to gain more hair.</p>
