Know the Symptoms of Diabetes

Diabetes is a curse to the modern society. It is said to be the most common disease of the present age. Once, diabetes used to be the disease of the rich and aristocrat people but now things are different. You will get many poor people suffering from this disease. The reason for this might be the changing food habit of human. The worst thing about diabetes is that, this disease has a lot of symptoms that matches with the symptoms of other disease. So you might be taking the symptoms to be of some other disease and treating accordingly without even knowing that you actually have diabetes. In most cases diabetes is detected accidentally when making some tests for other treatment. This is one of the reasons why you are often advised by the doctors to make a regular check up even if you do not have a health issue.

There are though some symptoms that will help you to identify if you have diabetes. They are:

1. Excessive hunger: when a person has diabetes, his glucose level in body goes down. Glucose is a very important element for the body. So, the lack of it makes the diabetic very hungry and makes him want to eat a lot. This situation is called poly phagin.

2. Excessive urination: a diabetic has high level of sugar in urea. This causes frequent urination to the patient. In this situation the urine is likely to taste sugary. This symptom is called poly urea and it is the most common symptom of diabetes.

3. Unusual thirst of water: a diabetic will show unusually excessive thirst of water. This happens because the body looses significant amount of liquid and skin and mouth becomes dry. This symptom is called poly dipsia.

4. Weight reduction: a diabetic will start loosing weight after a few days of being affected by the disease. This happens because; the lack of glucose in the body will make the body use the stored fat in the body. And this will result in a reduction of weight.

5. Lack of energy: the patient will feel tired and become weak as there are so many unusual things happening inside the body and the protein become exhausted.

6. Unusual itching: another sign of diabetes is that the diabetic will experience persistent itching all over the body and specially in the areas around the genital parts. This is a common thing that happens to women. So a persistent itching around the vagina should be taken seriously.
