      How to Quit Smoking

      quit-smoking-tipsFrom the first puff, smoking raises your blood pressure and makes your heart beat faster. It may not be a concern now, but it puts you at the risk for cancer and heart disease later in life. Nicotine is addictive and reaches your brain in seven seconds.

      In a recent survey it is found that around four million youths between the ages of 12 and 17 are smokers. They have started smoking because desire to look “grown up.”

      It is not easy stopping smoking in just one day if you have the bad habit of smoking frequently. You cannot quit for anyone, you need to quit for yourself. By the way, have you ever calculated how much you spend on smoking each month, each year? Have you ever thought how you can use that money on your other needs? Make a list of all the desires that you cannot dream of fulfilling due to lack of money. I assure you, if you save on smoking, one day your dream desire can be fulfilled.

      Set a quit date of 2 to 4 weeks from now. Start to inhale less deeply and as each day passes smoke fewer cigarettes. Try to wait longer before lighting up. Note the time down when you have the urge to smoke. When you have the desire to smoke, try to divert your mind. You can try chewing gum. Exercise more. Make sure the cigarette packets are out of your sight and you should try to stay in places that have no smoking rules. Think about the influence you have on younger people.  Be a positive role model on others.

      Either it is active smoking or passive smoking, you cannot escape from the several harmful effects of smoking.
      Quit smoking and stay healthy!
